July 4 at Rocky Butte

The past few years we've not really done anything special for July 4th, so this year we thought we'd do something a little different since Naomi's parents and our Brazilian friends were up for an adventure. After a bit of asking around I thought we could head to the top of Rocky Butte to get the panoramic all around us.

We parked down the hill at the church and spent about 20-30 min walking up the road to the top where lots of folks were already spreading out blankets and setting up chairs for the show.

I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a gorgeous night and I guess I kinda expected spectacular bursts of color all around us... but in reality we could see almost an endless stream of fireworks goin off in the far distance... so far away in every direction that I felt like I needed binoculars.

Happy birthday Murica.
