Crescent City

Along the far northern tip of California sits an unassuming settlement known as “Crescent City” (pop ~8000). Perhaps the whole city thing is hard to build upon when the ocean floor geography makes it unusually hard hit whenever a tsunami is in the area. Bummer. However for our family it featured as a quick stop for us that included a brief pier visit, a relaxed culinary delight (aka “lunch”), concluded by the obligatory beach visit. Being familiar with beaches along the Oregon coast, we were expecting a bit of the same. The difference to us were the trees, since the blowing sand and cool wind and uninviting waters were all reminiscent of Oregon beaches.

As for that culinary delight? Seaquake Brewing was amazing and an aptly-named establishment! Beach shots from Crescent Beach just to the south of town.
