Timberline Lodge to Zig Zag Canyon

With friends in from Ohio for their 25th anniversary, Naomi and I thought a trip to Mount Hood would be a nice change from the flat plains of the midwest. And indeed it was.

With an easy hike of just 4.6 miles with spectacular views and wildflowers along the way, the Timberline Lodge to Zig Zag Canyon hike is just perfect for a quick yet spectacular jaunt on the edge between woods and no woods (hence the name). As an out-and-back from the lodge you can get the beautiful outdoors followed by the jaw dropping beauty of the lodge and the food and drinks it serves.

Next time I plan to add more mileage and elevation by doing the Paradise Park Loop 757.
